If players at the table view you as a rock, you aren't going to get many callers and people won't be inclined to play against you. Would you rather be heads up in a pot with a quiet, serious 40-year-old man or a young, flirtatious blonde? Most men will say the blonde, but what if I told you she has been playing poker for 10 years and averages 30 hours a week? The thing is she never acts like she plays poker and is so friendly, no ever thinks about her as a threat. That's important.

If you're seen as a regular poker player, people aren't going to want to play against you. It's another way to pick up pots on bluffs, but you aren't going to get action when you have a hand. Poker is still a game and you're allowed to have fun. People who play poker need to enjoy the game. Being friendly keeps the game moving and helps keep the action rolling.

Despite your table image, you have to be able to change up your game. Be tight when the table is loose; be loose when the table is tight.
